Now that's a wild looking set of pipes. I'd love to hear what they sound like WOT and passing through about 7000 rpm..

              good chop job

I like your chop, nice work. Have the frame bars near the seat been lowered or is that factory on the XJ?

That's an awesome job you've done there. How loud is the puppy? I will guess the pipes are custom made?

The seat rail was dropped about 4" and reinforced with tubes connecting the shock mounts to the seat rail. The bike is pretty loud... The pipes are custom made from mandrel bent 1.5" OD mild steel. The design was more of a flaw than anything... It wasn't supposed to have 4' primary tubes, but due to material constraints, I continued the primaries all the way to the end pipes.

                              welding frame tubes

Can you elaborate on the methods you used, or anything you have heard, on the welding of frame tubes? On my model H, I have a break behind the seat bolt flange. I have welded the break once and even scabbed some reinforcement on it, but it broke again behind the weld. Does it help to heat the area near the weld to prevent thermal stress/strain as it cools??
