    I didn't do any heating etc. for the frame welding. I just prepped the area by sanding and cleaning the surface. I haven't had any major issues with the welds yet. Well, except for my exhaust... There was a flange that broke by the right footpeg. I placed additional supports in that area, but it may fatigue again. Especially since I recently scraped the exhaust pipes doing a right hand turn at speed the other day...

      I have welded the break once and even scabbed some reinforcement on it, but it broke again behind the weld.

      sounds like your welder was set a little too hot for the thickness of the metal your welding. (BT, DT)

        Thanks, MRO. I will have him turn it down to where it almost sticks the rod!
