Clutch Cable Length

What is the clutch cable length in inches on our bikes. I found a ggod deal on true S.S. Braided, I don't have an extra one to measure at this time....thanks again

Hey Chop,

A spare cable I had measured 55 inches, I think it was for a Standard, the Special might be a little longer due to pull back bars?!

Standard cable is 53.5 inches from end to end, outer Sleeve length 49.5 inches.

well, I was figuring t.c. gave me the length of a special..I have low handlebars and ordered the "custom" SS Braided cable from a v-star...I will keep posted....thanks again

Hey Chop,

My concern is not the overall length, but the length of the exposed section of cable that fits down into the clutch engine cover, is it the same for the V-star vs. the XS11?? That's where it looks like it might cause a problem with fitting??

Yeah T.C., that was my only concern too. So I measured the "Relaxed" distance on a spare cover i have and I determined the donor (v-star cable) has to be at least 2.25". I will get the cable tomorrow and install it. If the length is a little longer. I will make a spacer between cable and clutch cover... I will make it work one way or another. The Sportster Throttle cable had to be cut down a bit near the twist, other than that, a perfect fit....chop....p.s. i found 3 of them at 30 ea...real s.s. braid
