No one in Northern Ohio, but I know a guy that is central ohio that is good. He only works on old Japanese bikes. Let me know and I'll give you his number

      Tap TAp, not a knock???

First adjust the cam chain, (very easy to do) check tech tips

If still there and it is in the top end may need valves adjusted.
Still not hard to do, but will take a few hours. (gotta clean off the old valve cover gasket if it needs to be replaced )

If still there then you may need a m/c tech.

      btw
just checking the valve clearance is easy to do, just need a "feeler gage", other than one alen wrench and 19mm wrench. Info in tech tips too.

Breyley Yamaha in North Royalton has done some work for me in the past. Not cheap but they've got 2 old timers that know the XS11 very well. If you are close to Cleveland, PM me with contact info and maybe if put our heads together we can figure it out.
