Sorry, Tod. I don't know what happened. It reads XS1100G in my profile, I just checked.

      Hey bbrown

Can you swing by Hurst one afternoon this week? I have some airboxes you can look over, and some other pieces you may be interested in. I live right by NE Mall, and I get home from work around 3 pm. You can bringyour carbs by, and I'll look them over for you.

        carb search

John, Thanks for the reply. I tried to email you a week or so ago. Don't know where that mail went.

I can come by towards the latter part of the week. Got some stuff to do the earlier part.

Got to tell you tho...we have given up on the carb set that came with the bike. Whoever took them apart really messed up several pieces including 2 carb bodies that are beyond repair.

We are currently looking for a set to purchase and hope to have that accomplished in a week or so.

Would it be better to wait until then?

Later in the week is ok with me. I am off on Thurs-Fri. Bring the old carbs with you. I have a set from an 81 that we may be able to salvage yours with. I'm going to send you a PM with my phone number. Let me you if you get it, and then give me a call in a few days, and we'll set things up.

            carb search....

John, Can do. I will have to get the carbs from my B-I-L in Richardson.

Haven't gotten your email as yet but I will be on the lookout.

              bbrown,
If John can't help (not likely!!), I have a set of '79 carbs. Complete, but will need a rebuild. Let me know, and I can get them out to you.
John, I may try to get out your way July 20/21. I'll have to get your number, as I'd like to see what you've done with Kat's bike.

                carb search.......

                DiverRay,

Thanks for the reply. I'm headed over to John's on Thursday and taking the corrugated box with all the carb pieces with me to see if he agrees that they are NOT salvagable as a set. I'm pretty sure that will be the concensus because so many pieces are broken, missing, etc. Looks like the guy that took them apart used a ballpeen hammer and vise grips and 2 foot cheaters on them.

Send me an email with the cost of your set so we can make some kind of decision. We have a couple of sets spotted, several in salvage yards and we also have others watching for us too.

                Thanks.............
