I don't know who started the black chrome thing. Unless Yamaha had some secret formula, black chrome looks more like gunmetal. it has a beautiful bluish tint, but it would look awful funny on an otherwise black and gold bike. If I'm wrong, just the same, gloss black powdercoat looks identical. The pipes, I would send to Jet Hot Coatings for black ceramic coat. The gold works best in gold chrome because gold plate will tarnish quick w/out a clearcoat.
I learned by experience on my bro's bike, so this isn't hearsay.

Is that the same as the fastgold that caswell sells?

I had a clearcoat put over the powder to gloss up the finish even more on the previously pictured bike. Didn't really cost much more either. Just something else to consider.
On the gold subject, I learned the hard way. The grab bar is gold chrome cuz it wouldn't fit in the gold plate tank. It's finish stays like new. However the rest of the pieces are gold plated and oxidize within a week. We're gonna have to pull them all off again and either clearcoat them or plate them.
Also, the left front rotor has been painted with gold rattle can from Walmart. The difference is noticable if your looking for it, but came out surprisingly close. Got lazy tho, and didn't paint the engine.

            Emblems/decals

            Hi guys !
I guess the australian company Russell is talking about, is www.badgereplicas.com.au
Great products. The emblems I have bought from there is made of some kind of metal - but looks identical to the genuine plastic ones.
There is also an other interesting website for reproduction of different decals: www.reproductiondecals.com.au
