  • Checking comp on one cylinder

If I only want to check compression on one cylinder do I need to remove all the plugs or just the one I plan to test?

Engine warm. (2-3 minutes at idle.)
    Fully charged battery.
    Throttle wide open.
    All spark plugs removed.

You COULD leave the other spark plugs in and check it.... it just wouldn't be right!!

While you can leave the other plugs in, it's not recomended
The starter will be under more load, so won't turn as fast which may mean a lower reading (and a hot starter)
If your head gasket is leaking between the cylinder you're testing and one with a plug still in it, its pressure could be different than what is its true reading
