Dude, I really hate you right now...

Man that is a pretty bike! And the ghost flames on the tank, totally cool!

I'm sorry, but you won't be allowed to ride that thing in Texas. See, in Texas, there is a defense clause that says, "he needed killin'." and is a legal defense.

Just kidding, among you, Pathfinder, and Hippy Dave (who refuses to get on this website), I just can't keep up.

    Looks freakin' awesome!

Guess what kids, this is what happens when you install the gear shifter mechanism the wrong way! (Note the floor jack and the angle of the bike.) The good news is that it's all back together now...the right way.

Has anyone ever got that feeling that a project is fighting you? I swear my bike has been fighting me all the way. I know part of it is that I'm really young to be doing this, but other things are just plain bad luck.

Ohh well, sorry I had to vent.

        The Young and the Shiftless

I hear ya bro, on both the notion of being young (I'm 25 - younger than my BIKE), AND on the notion of the project fighting you. Just the other day I was asking myself if the bike was cursed. Then I did some more work on it, things went smoothly, and now I've got this calm feeling of serenity - which I think will be only amplified once I'm cruisin' on I-5.

...granted, yours is much more involved - I'm just trying to get mine RUNNING - pimping it out will happen eventually, but not for awhile yet.

Can't wait to see yours all put together and haulin' ass - keep up the good work!

Yeah, I'm 21 years old so I've been learning a lot with this project. Hopefully the next XS will go a little smoother. Everybody here seems to have a name for their bike (i.e. Swamp Thing, the Black Widow, Foster Child, Black Ice, etc) I think mines going to be "The Bitch". Ohh wait, my bike is pimped out with chrome so maybe it will be "The Biatch".

Nice job. Are you going to keep the clutch cable routing as it is? Are you considering a solo seat? Are you going to stay with the center controls or opt for foward controls? I know it sounds like alot of questions but inquireing minds want to know. Nice job on the paint also. Did you do that yourself?
I'll have to print out one of your pics to put on my shop wall next to the old rusted out stripped down one I have up there now. I do this so MIYAMI knows not to act up or that's the end result. Mabee with your pic up there, she'll not be as finicky knowing she's got a good looking sister in the Wasatch.

Excellent Job!! I think you've out-done me. I always get stoked to see someone else inspired to fix up these bikes. Guess I'm not the only one with chromed rims anymore, huh? And the paint looks great. I like how you kept the labels on the switches. Did you get new stickers somehow. I let the buffing wheel rip mine off. I like the bar clamp too. Happy to make your aquointance flameboy.... meet Cruismissle and the Punisher.
