  • Almost ready to ride, and a new problem, pictures

Well it's almost ready to go. All she needs now is for the new Master cyclinder, SS brake lines to show up. However, when I fired it up today (the first time in about 8 months, it started right away!) and plugged in the headlight to check if it's working, it was dead. I took a continuity tester to the headlight plug and I didn't get anything. Any thoughts?

It sounds so mean with the mufflers off!

Did you try the headlight with the engine running?
Did you put the VOM on the bulb?
do you still have the original fuse holder?
These are all things that I would look at first.
    NICE looking bike!!

How the hell did you get the rims like that? Very spiffy rig. My night vision is shot for a week now.

                AKMac

Man, that sure is a nice looking bike. All that chrome really shows up. I happened to notice that the pilot box is a little too shabby for such a pretty bike. Would you be interested in buying a new label to go over the pilot box? Only $12, S&H included. Just the thing you need to spiff up the gauges, and such.

Looks great AKMac! What's the name of the place here where you had everything chromed?...............Again looks superb, right down to the Metzler tires! I'd be running that tire on the back to go with my ME33 Lazer, but Metzler doesn't make it in a 17" as far as I seen. Those ME88's are the replacement for the ME55 I have on the rear.........O'well.

Well I got the headlight working...it seems that someone...ahem...wired the blinkers wrong and this was causing the headlight fuse to blow. I won't mention any names. The good thing is that this forced me to get rid of the mess the PO had turned the fuse box into. I replaced it with the Partsnmore fuse box.

Well if my brake parts show up, expect to see the finished product next week!

webbcraft2150 - The rims are the stock ones that I had chrome plated.

knewsom - I'll just be just the stock seat for now. Eventually I might have a custom seat done, but for at least this season it will remain stock.

John - I would love to get a new pilot box label! I've been waiting for a NOS one to pop up on ebay, but if mine can be restored that would be great! How hard are they to install?

Harleychanic - The rear shocks are Progressive 412's. I haven't had a chance to actually ride this thing, but I hear they are pretty good. I'm also running Progressive front springs.

motoman - Plating Specialties did the chrome work. I think they are on 25th street. Good catch on the Metzler tires! They are actually ME880's front and rear. The rear is a 140/90-16.
