At least this time they were probably tears of joy, unlike all the other times you made your Mom cry.

DAMMIT........ That last paragraph brought a tear to MY eye.
You have a wonderful Christmas with your family man.
I'm glad you made it safely and I enjoyed the journey even though I wasn't there.
Hope you stay in touch but we'll understand if you don't.
Make sure we're with you on the way home.
Tell mom from this family too!

Have the best Christmas ever!!
Tod, enjoy your mom and family's company, hope you have the greatest Christmas ever! I know the feeling as I consider myself close to parents/family but we are spread out. Although, let me tell you, not that I could ride to see them, but if I could, they could not pay me to ride in that weather to spend time with them!!
Keep up the reporting. Some of us are seeing that part of the country for the first time up close now!
Have a safe rest of your trip.

My brother and his family are coming over here to eat dinner (Stroganoff) I think there'll be enough. There's a pot full that's even bigger than Ivan's helmet!
Tomorrow, my brother has a big get-together for Christmas breakfast, then the afternoon, we go to his wife's brother's house for a big barbecue... smoked everything. I'm going to have to get some tires with stouter weight limits for the trip home.
Merry Christmas everyone, and thanks for the responses.

So... If you would have stayed home. We are in blizzard like condtions. Govenor declared state of emergency. They closed 35 down from texas to kansas. OKC got 11.5 inches of snow so far and a lot of wrecks. Sure wish you were here so we could take my xj out and have some fun in the snow. Mom is a bum when it comes to playing around in it, because if you go outside you are automatically destined to fall and break every bone and if you drive just go ahead and call the insurance company because you are going to wreck. I would even have you drive me jeep. I hear you are getting old though so i dont know if you could handle playing around in the snow anymore. You might be to old and brittle to be outside. Just saying we miss you and its boring around here with people who are cold blooded inside people

Made it home. 1,180 miles in 22 hours, but the last 100 miles took 3 hours due to ice and snow. I took a couple pics and will post sometime tomorrow. Off to bed...

I thought we would get a lollygagging drawn out adventure on the way back.
Glad you made it home safe.
I thought at first you had to be hauling a$$ at first.
But did the math.If you rode straight through it would be at 53 mph.If you slept
5 hours in between it would be about 70 mph. That is without stopping for gas though.I figure there was some serious haulin and some areas you know you have to slow down to avoid the POPO or terrain.80 SG XS1100
