You don't need a passport to get into Canada but you need one to get back in to the U.S.

Flying to Canadia, I was trying to get to BC (camping/hiking... not bud!) and was nearly turned back in '05 by customs, because I didn't have my passport. Being from MI, I was used to crossing (driving) w/ just my driver's license. They may balk at a FL and IL pair, though. I think birth cert. should work. Worth checking out "officially" though.

I'm planning a trip around the eastern half of the US for summer '08, and I've started to do some initial planning. Here is a fantastic site. It breaks up roads by state and then into twisties, scenic, sweeping curves, and unpaved. Plus it shows if they're primarily N-S or E-W, and they'll put you on connecting roads that are fun. A little time spent at the computer could mean the difference between a good time and a great time. motorcycleroads.us

If you come through MI, let me know; I'm on the main drag if you visit the UP (definitely worth seeing), and you're more than welcome to stop in. I'll put you on some good roads in this state. If nothing else, you can keep my number handy, just in case.

If you need anything as your passing through RI or South Eastern CT Let me know I'll email you my info. Unless you just wanna travel US1 from Me to Fl you may wanna get up of the coast between New Haven and NYC there are better roads to ride. US1 down there is a lot of stop and go city stuff go just a little ways north and you can skip a lot of it.
