  • a LONG ride in May/.June!

hi, all, I am planning a LONG ride starting May 10... from Delray Beach up through the middle of the country to Chicago, where I will meet my brother and his new HD for the rest of the trip... then across the northern states to Maine and back down US 1 to Key West... hopefully back home by June 10... I will be on my newly refurbished (not restored, just repaired!) 79 xs11 special... so, my questions: 1. any sites with helpful road hints (my longest trip before this was 1500 miles in 1972!!), and 2. is there a list anywhere of good shops in the US I could stop at if I need help? (I have a great mech here, but he isn't coming along!)... TIA!

let me know where in maine you are going
not a whole lot going on around here then,
tourest season starts in july around here
alot of people like going to kittery, lots of shops and factory outlets for the shoppers.
dress warm as tonight we are getting 4 to 8 inches of snow
still can be cool around may.
i went to mt. washington in late may, there were still chunks of ice as big as a car on the sides of the road.

                            passport?

I just went to the US passport site, they say this:

"Current Requirements for Entry Into Canada

Visas are not required for U.S. citizens entering Canada from the U.S. You will, however, need:

                            1. proof of your U.S. citizenship such as your U.S. passport (For information on obtaining a U.S. passport, check with one of the regional passport agencies located throughout the U.S.) or certified copy of your birth certificate issued by the city, county or state in the U.S. where you were born. Driver’s license, voter’s registration card or Social Security card is NOT valid proof of citizenship.
