I am also wondering what, if any reply was made to the email. I know I did not choose the cheapest dude to get lines from when I undertook the task of procuring them but I do believe that I chose the best I could have. As, a fellow motorcycle enthusiast and owner I do think that Chacal,s lines are the best available to us. Your opinion may vary but I make no apologies for my thoughts. I hope everyone finds the lines and pricing they want. I also hope they enjoy the improved braking these type of lines provide. Ride safe my friends!

          Hi Rasputin,
Thank you for all the effort you and Chacal put in to sizing and sorting out the SS brake lines. In the beginning there did not seem to be any vendors offering what we wanted. Now there appear to be numerous vendors making the effort to service the SS brake lines to older bikes not just the XS.

I'm pretty sure the price of Chacal's parts is because of the DOT certification.

They're not just individual kit parts and it cost money for the cert(s) to be able to put DOT tags on the brake hose assemblies.

DOT certification is not at all what most people think it is. All it means is "We claim to do things the way the DOT says we should." It's not like some suit inspects a part every so often.

The DOT only really certifies whole systems and processes. That's it! So that hose, having that little rubber ring on it really doesn't mean anything really.

Just a Bump to bring it back. As the title is " Stainless lines and more from XJBikes.com" maybe we should start another thread that's sole purpose is to post link and order info. Then we could have discussions reserved for the other pages. JAT.

Bumping is all I am doing. Spent quite a few bucks and a lot of time getting these perfect. Hope that members can appreciate that. I do not profit from any sales on this link or site.

                                Bump...

Here's what I just ordered from eBay. $104.95 shipped.

                                http://www.ebay.com/itm/YAMAHA-1977-...dTB5g-&vxp=mtr

The 80SG needs to lose the stock rubber hoses before the Colorado Rally. 3Phase made a comment (something to this effect) to me at the last rally about "when the 1980 rubber blows out in 2014..."

Well, it's 2016 now. Feels good to have made the purchase.
