Is someone familiar with the Yamaha Fazer? Don't know what year, but it looked similar to a V-max, a little more "sportbikish" and with a 5 Valve inline four? Pretty big bike. Just curious, I saw one for $2000.

Fazer
I was told a good working 700 cc fazer , liquid cooled 5 valve, chain drive would blow the doors off an XS , not my statement but that what i was told at a bike rally by an old timer. It looked more like an r1 than a XS, i talked to the owner and (she) said it was really fast and conered like a dream! Thats my only knowledge on this subject lol ........................MITCHDoug Mitchell

47 years riding and still learning, does that make me a slow learner?

The fazer has the same engine as the maximX. I read somewhere that it is a nice engine, but it likes to be ridden hard, as the power band is a tad higher than our bikes. There was a comparaison between the XJ750 and the XJ750X when it came out, and they said that it was a lot more powerful.

The Maxim X was also 5 valves per cylinder but its cylinders weren't canted forward like the FZ and the Fazer. The few that I've ridden went like stink. I'd be happy to have one in my stable.
