I got my 83 Seca 400 running. Last items were a head light and front brake.
And I mounted the two saddle bags off my Suzuki.
Have made two trips around my Island. Handle bars were bent, I straightened them but they need replacing. Swing arm bushings also need replacing.
The original engine was worn out so I swapped it. New engine is still a DOHC but a 5 speed. Original was 6.
Bike rides and handles quite well.
Have done 7000 revs in 4th and 6000 in 5th, which is around 110 KPH.
Rough calculations suggest I will need to hit 9000 revs to get 100 MPH.
Not sure yet if it will rev that high. May need taller gearing. Will find out soon when I get it on the main highway. But so far, for under $1000.00 I will have a good riding, and I hope reliable scooter. And I have the original engine to play with if I get the time or the urge.
