      They really couldn't go wrong re-releasing the XS line with modern technology, whatever that may consist of.

        if they did then all the values on our bikes would drop like a rock...plus theres no way yamaha would make a bike that doesnt break...planned obsloecence all the way...which in large part is the reason the XS/XJ was only produced 5 years....it didnt break and they lost money on that deal...

          Yamaha could serve themselves well by reproducing a substantial supply of the XS11 parts - rather than leaving it all to the aftermarket.

                  I'm pretty sure these bikes have been on the Japanese market since the late seventies. I saw people riding them just a few short years ago when I was working in Japan. I believe this is just a reintroduction to the US market. I noticed most Japanese people are a lot smaller than me. It's a pretty bike, but too small for me.

                    well have to add to this ...Forgot that yamaha has re-released the XS1100 its modern rendition is the XJR1300 which we here in the states cannot get...its every bit the the next generation XS1100...damn shame Yamaha wont bring it here...

                      If my achy bones would let me ride a bike like that, I'd be all over one of those if they brought them here. As it is, there are no new bikes in my future.

                      I have a brand x 400 twin that I'm thinking of keeping for a round town bike but that's still up in the air...
