They really couldn't go wrong re-releasing the XS line with modern technology, whatever that may consist of.

if they did then all the values on our bikes would drop like a rock...plus theres no way yamaha would make a bike that doesnt break...planned obsloecence all the way...which in large part is the reason the XS/XJ was only produced 5 years....it didnt break and they lost money on that deal...

Yamaha could serve themselves well by reproducing a substantial supply of the XS11 parts - rather than leaving it all to the aftermarket.

I'm pretty sure these bikes have been on the Japanese market since the late seventies. I saw people riding them just a few short years ago when I was working in Japan. I believe this is just a reintroduction to the US market. I noticed most Japanese people are a lot smaller than me. It's a pretty bike, but too small for me.

If my achy bones would let me ride a bike like that, I'd be all over one of those if they brought them here. As it is, there are no new bikes in my future.

I have a brand x 400 twin that I'm thinking of keeping for a round town bike but that's still up in the air...

What would it cost to import one of those bad boys?

Good luck! I don't think you can. I may not make US emission standards or noise standards, or, or, or... Whatever it is, you can't have it!

If I could get one of those, I wouldn't even try to register it, just put a valid tag on it and go.
