IIRC, that bike has an inline six. A quick GOOGLE showed no shortage of information.

Thinking about it: Yamaha has Venturer and Venture in '81/'82, Kawasaki haa Voyager Must have been the year of touring bikes.1979 XS1100F

Neighbor friend of mine has an 89 that was dealer owned and hardly ridden. Have ridden it myself on a couple occassions. The ride and smoothness is every bit as good as a Wing, and has all the same farkles. These DO have throttle body injection and an actual cruise control. Their fuel consumption is in the mid 50's mpg at slab speeds. Very nice, dependable bikes considering Kawy has always kinda drug behind its other three competitors over the decades.81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

May wanna read up some more. That pic is a ZG1200 Voyager.
Sorry bout that Greg. kept thinkin' they were 1300cc. BTW, the six cyl. had a short life as it wasn't that popular. Remember them back in the day with owners complaining bout the crappy mileage and shins burnin' up with the two extra cyl. hangin' out there. Besides the fact they would'nt even come close to hangin' with my Venturer, as a few tried back in the early 80's.81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

Took it out for a ride tonight and was quite happy. The only thing I didnt care for was when turning it kind of wants to turn in by itself but Im sure that just something I need to get use to. Definitely feels a lot different than my 11. Heres a couple dark cramped pictures. Not much room in the garage.

Hey Nate, that looks really nice. Please provide a ride report for us. What is that plate bracket on the tank?1979 XS1100F

It was a short test ride but I was quite pleased. Having a back rest was a very nice change and for a full dresser its a pretty quick bike. The windshield on it is perfect. On my 79 XS, my dads Ultra Glide and a friends honda, all the fairings on them create a vortex that tosses my beard up into my face. With this one there wasnt even a breeze.
The bracket is for a GPS. It also has a cigarette lighter plug behind it for power.Nate

They have all the farkles that the Wing does, and a plus is low speed(5mph) balance is better than the 1500Wing, along with a bit better fuel mileage(50+) having throttle body injection.81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.
