  • xs xj, lots of parts, lets build something

    I have a question,

    Will a xs11 drive shaft splines match a xj750 U-joint
    Or will a Xs11 U-joint bolt to a xj750 tranny?

I'm looking into setting up my Seca with the deeper gear ratio of the 11FD
And the rear disk brake and the beefier rims of the Xs bikes

I'm already running 11 rotors on the front xJ rim.

This may seem like an odd thing to do but, by now some of you know me well enough to understand that I specialize in oddity.

I've measured out most of the items and the swap should be relitively easy.

Yes, the brake lever and master cylinder mount may require a little welding modification.
the swing arm should bolt up directly.

I'm just in the planning stage at the moment..

Most bike problems are caused by a loose nut connecting the handlebars and the seat!!

I do have 1 piece of info..

Xs750 drive shaft will slide into the xj750 U-joint

Maybe that will help id the other configurations?

    Thank you

      Adventure

I do not know about the interchangable parts from the various bikes you ask about. But I like the adventure bike you are building that Seca into. Paint, saddlebag cans, tires. Looks good (live in WI). If you get the gearing and suspension to suit you, that will be adventure RIGHT.

      Good luck wrenching,
PS I have an (unusable to me) final drive for a GS1100...very different from an XS1100
It is a great big beautiful world out there
