smoke out 14 bike show

me and my brother went to a pretty cool bike show this weekend in rockingham north carolina. it was called "smoke out 14", a custom bike show. thought i would show you guys what kinds of bikes were there. here are the ones that i thought were pretty good looking bikes, and a few that make you wonder "what is that", along with some rat rod trucks.








the rear end of this thing was a 60 somthing mustang












my wife liked this one



this one won the show. its a norton on a triumph frame, with ducati front forks. this thing was beautiful.

now for the ones that i wasnt sure what they were



this one was pretty cool looking alot of detail, sprocket seats (passenger is the one on the fender the lower one was the riders seat), valve cover and liscense plates for the gas tank, car rear tire, and airbag rear suspension.







it was a pretty good time. hope you guys like the pics.

I like the Cheap Bastard XJ1100 with the western saddle...

I think that the Cheap Bastard is an XJ750 or XJ650. But I cringed when I saw that one.

I will say that it looks like a great display or motorcycle art work. Not many if nay I would actually want to try to ride more than across the lot. No front brake is an immediate disqualification form road use in my book.

Some very interesting looking equipment though. Creative builds for sure.

It is a bit much...I was fooled by what I thought was a rotor on the rear...only 1100s had disc rears.

I love the P40 Warhawk teeth though, I think the tank shape lends itself to that look. If only it was more stock and olive drab! Ideas for future bikes

I agree that some are a work of art - the results of some really vivid imaginations for sure. I am guessing that they are "rideable" but are more in the category of "trailered daily". Nice pictures. Good to look at.

Even the Norton/Triumph hybrid winner was done backwards.
You're supposed to put a TRIUMPH engine into a NORTON frame to best use the Triumph's lighter weight engine and the Norton's better handling frame.

it never occurred to me that Triton builders would offset their costs by selling off their leftovers but of course you are right.
Blindingly obvious after someone points it out, eh?
But, "Norville?" Properly, it's a DucNorumph hardtail.
But dontcha love that giant front stopper?
I can just see an elderly Italian designer crouched over his drafting table muttering (In Italian) "I'll show these young whippersnappers we don't need no steenkin' hydraulics."
