Its certainly my hope that yamaha gets inspired to bring the XJR1300 stateside....81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

It depends on which year, some of them had 4 into 2 into 1.

This XJR1300 SP if being sold by a dealer near me, it might be worth asking if they'd sort out shipping to the US.

Ah crap!! I forgot about that stuff. Sorry.
We don't have that here, though they're trying to bring it in through the European laws
It may also be why Yamaha don't import the XJR13 into the US, it may not be able to meet US emission laws, some of the bikes we had from the Jap 4 have been dropped in Europe for the same reason.Tom

I was basing my facts on the exhaust on this pic but now i'm not sure its a 4 into 1 at any rate it matters not as this is exactly how I'd like one...black and chrome....looks downright bitchin' and even better lookin than the Honda IMHO...

That Honda is lovely. It's great to see that motorbikes are beginning to look like motorbikes again....
If Yamaha introduce the XJR1300 in competition to the Honda, buy the XJR, is my biased advice.....XS1100F 1980 European model. Standard. Dyna coils. Iridium plugs. XS750 final drive (sometimes). Micron fork brace. Progressive front springs. Geezer regulator/rectifier. Stainless 4 into 2 exhaust. Auto CCT (Venturer 1300) SOLD. New project now on the go. 1980 European model.

I agree Marty, I like the real chrome fender look of the Honda, as opposed to the wing look on the XJR. I still like the look of the XJR, but prefer the Honda look.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

hmmm I've never considered the differences with the rear setups...since the CBR1100 is already here... its the best shot we have. I can attest to Honda's reliability...although they arent without some faults...nothing is ever perfect1980 XS650G Special-Two

Honda / XJR
I agree with you guys on the fender. I would prefer the classic look. I wonder if they will ever bring back the CBX 6 cyls? I love my old CBX and V65!
