Good Lord those are stunning Marty
An early 70s' XS650 was the street bike I learned to ride on...although it looked nothing like these fine examples here. Still rings back some cool memories

After I rode mine back from Texas in '73 I broke the small end of a rod and it went thru the jugs so I found new cyls from a '72,had them bored to a 750,put a Weber +10 degree cam,polished the ports and re geared to a 39 rear,think front was stock,not much of a road bike after that but it was one heck of a city bike.The front wheel shook worse than an old AMF Harley..pretty cool back then
That bike I think is why I stayed with Yamaha instead of Honda...just liked the overall quality of their machines.'80 XS1100 SG

I was kinda looking for a XS650 after my Skoot melted down: then I found an other XS11 on Craigslist, 15 miles away for 600 bucks! I guess I'm just meant to have an XS11, but the XS650 sure is attractive for a bantam weight senior looking for a city bike. Thanks again for the photo's!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike.
Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
