I"ll have to check out that mod. The only thing I have done so far is to rebuild the carbs.

      Now That You Mention IT

With the side-out aftermarket exhaust, they sound exactly like the older V-12 XKE Jags! They DO like fuel with a 35mpg being the upper end of its mileage........and unfortunately not built anymore. The dressed out model was called the Interstate. My favorite was the yellow and white naked model with just a winshield attached.....wife would prefer red/white of course. Never have owned one, but like Nate, was one of my favorites. I WOULD let my Honda ST go if it were for one of these in as nice of condition.......in a heartbeat... Would just hope an alternator or stator would never go bad since that requires engine removal for replacement.
Funny you say U would trade you ST11 for a Valk, as that's pretty much what I did only I sold and bought all my bikes outright with no horse-trading, I owned the dark maroon ST11 and the dark blue ST13 at the same time. I actually preferred the ST11 over th ST13 cause it felt longer and gave me a bit more room for my tall frame plus the ST11 ran alot cooler compared to the ST13 which would fry your beans and weiner, and inner thighs and calves on a moderately warm day compared to the ST11. After selling those, I ended-up with the bright red ST11 pictured and when I sold it, I bought the cinnamon and creme Valk, then bought the black Valk that I went crazy on detailing it to the "max" and adding all the custom touches to really make it pop visually...I really enjoy detailing a bike and when I sell them, I enjoy seeing the buyers get that glimmer of excitement in their eyes when they 1st see it in person...Oh well, it keeps me outta trouble...

the dog looks comfortable on the ST13, but afraid my hands would go to sleep in short order as they are just a bit too sport oriented. And most hate to admit on the ST site that their 11's were more comfortable. My ST11 is really comfortable with the Heli-Bars, Corbin seat. See the red one had the Clearview shield with the Wing vent. My Clearview has the cat-eyes as they won't do both as it apparently takes away from the strenght integrity of the shield. I also put the LaminarLip on my shield and the RachmanHiwayWings.....Definitely the LD tourer gettin' some 340+ miles easily out of a tank of fuel on the slab. So far its been a keeper, even thought I had to replace the coolant elbows/o-rings and carb boots a week ago......not bad for a twenty year old scoot and less than $75 to fix. Still has the Exide battery that was in it new 7yrs. ago when i bought it, and holding at 12.7V! My luck if a cell shorts, it'll be in the middle of nowhere and too far from somewhere!....Yep, do have that regulator plug-in and all other connection lubed up with dieletic grease, since that reg. plug becomes an issue area.....hmmmm, elec. issues seem to be familiar with most older scoots if one doesn't do the preventative maint.....and yes, it still has the 28amp. oil cooled alt. Don't see them being the issue that some think......if the preventative stuff is done. A bit pricey to convert to the 96 and later air-cooled alt., but hundreds do it because of poor previous maint. and some just want the 40amper so they can add more power robbing farkels to the bike. Still like the Vaulks tho....and guess they roll in comfort down the slab too.
