  • My Ole Valkyrie

Here's some pics of a 99 Valkyrie I owned a couple of yrs ago that I customized and detailed it to the max and then I sold to a 65 YO rider from Utah that flew into Austin and rode it home after buying it...check-out the "Zombie" levers that I added for that special touch...the billet mirrors had LED amber turn signals built inot them also....many, many, custom pieces including 5 inch bar risers topped-off with a billet clamp that matches the billet covers for the clutch and frt brake resevoirs...all the turn lenses were coverted to the clear white and I even found some antique license plate holders that were the clear white type to match the lenses...and the Memphis Shades fairing with the gradient tint shield really set it off nice!!! FWIW I've owned 3 Valks in the past...

Good bikes. I just bought a cherry 82 Honda CBX 1000 and a 85 Honda V65 Magna that I am restoring.

                  'Nuther VALK

Here's the VALK I owned jsut before the Black one.
This one had the 6 into 6 pipes that sounded like
a small block Chevy on steroids. I use to get-off on just
running it thru the gears just to hear that music to my ears

Nice rides......that they are, and quick with under 12sec. quarter mile off the showroom floor.......and rightly so sportin' the six carbs as opposed to the Wings four carbs. With the side-out aftermarket exhaust, they sound exactly like the older V-12 XKE Jags! They DO like fuel with a 35mpg being the upper end of its mileage........and unfortunately not built anymore. The dressed out model was called the Interstate. My favorite was the yellow and white naked model with just a winshield attached.....wife would prefer red/white of course. Never have owned one, but like Nate, was one of my favorites. I WOULD let my Honda ST go if it were for one of these in as nice of condition.......in a heartbeat... Would just hope an alternator or stator would never go bad since that requires engine removal for replacement.

.......BTW, even heavy and bulky as they are.......wouldn't get in a pi$$in' contest with one if your on an even naked XS11......all you will see and hear is those sweet soundin' exhaust!....Nope, haven't BTDT, as I already know their reputation and capability if the need arises....

Definitely two more great choice super bikes Foreda! Have U done the needed cam oiling mod. on the 65Magna? U definitely seem to come across some nice older powerhouse bikes!

                          Valkyrie and XS1100SF

Just a hello, that I'd like to keep in touch for a few reasons. I also have
a 1979 XS1100SF model, and like to have contacts with other SF owners.

The other reason is that I had been interested in acquiring a Valkyrie at
some point since I would like a substantial road cruiser. Sounds like you have some experience and knowledge about them. Had my XS1100SF since 1981, but am new to looking at Valkyries. Like Gold Wings, but cant deal with all the plastic-fantastic stuff, and love the big but stylish Valkyrie. You have some source which explains the different years/models/options as I start my search??

                          Regards,
                          Fred
