Looking awesome! I am interested to see how the nitrous turns out!

In any moment of decision the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.
Thanks guys, this is turning out to be pretty fun. I was not going to do anything else after the work this winter, but I am looking at a single sided swing arm conversion...hmmm
But to concentrate on the task at hand, here is the sum total of the night's work. Mounted the solenoids and fuel pump. It just takes a lot of time to get stuff laid out well, but I am pretty happy where it all is, and I can move forward with the plumbing now.

Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better. I’ve always believed this, in spite of the trouble it’s caused me. Being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube. That is why God made fast motorcycles, Bubba….Hunter S. Thompson
Welding all finished on the new tank. I did the cut outs on the bottom panels, and fit the seat to it as well. I ended up having to relocate the nitrous and fuel system solenoids due to low clearance (I hadn't planned on nitrous when I started the tank). But it ends up a little better for fuel line routing anyway.
No I just have to polish that sucker...

Guess a tank bag is out of the question. certainly not a magnetic one anyway.
I would love to see a pic of you on it, you have to be on the tank all the time dont ya?
I got to admit the tank still isnt my taste but then that doesnt matter, I almost think your stepping out of the streetfighter realm into something else. Not sure what. But your fab skills are certainly admirable.
Ha, yep, it is certainly outside the realm of streefighter--or any genre for that matter. This is now an obsession with function. I want light and fast, since it is easier performance than power. This tank weighs in at a fraction of the stocker, but keeps the capacity (at least I hope it does). AS far as being on it, a naked sport bike kind of mandates you lay on it all the time. Such is that curse...
Tomorrow comes the polish job on the tank. That should help it tie in a little more, and make it look a little more refined as well.
Thanks for all your comments! I really appreciate knowing that y'all are following along!

Looking into coating the pipe, now. Got some jetting still to sort, and some other stuff, but progress nonetheless!

So I am really close to done; have to build a front fender, and get the pipes refininished (the alum. paint is just falling off, so Jet-Hot it is). I got some sweet new grips for it today, for $13 on Ebay. The machining is not superb, but it's not bad for the price. Everything that looks like aluminum is!
I had to take the machined cap of the LH grip, since my mirror is a bar end on. It turns out the cap is exactly the same size as the ignition switch, so I got a cool bezel for the switch, too!
Here are a couple other cool shots I got of it today:
Oh, here is where it started, when I bought it:
Almost finished, thanks for following along!

The single sided swinger is definitely in the plans...!
