    You are creepy, man...

Are you registered with a build over there?

So getting close to done with this mo-chine. I was very disappointed in the aluminum exhaust paint I used when it just fell off in peels, so I finally bit the bullet and sent the pipe out to be ceramic coated. Performance Coatings did the work, and they did a really nice job, and more importantly, they did it fast! It looks pretty darn close the polished aluminum, and seems to insulate the pipe, just like they say. Here are some pics of that:

I have to dial in the NO, and make the Texalium front fender. I did a little burn out for joy in the garage tonight, and I think this post-apocolyptic zombie killer is ready for action!

I am guessing that is their chromex coating? Looks amazing for powdercoat, heck even if it wasn't powdercoat it still looks amazing! I may seriously consider doing my exhaust in that!

You going to put in any dyno time with that beast?

Definitely a different look..........would dremal cut those extruding bolt studs flush to the nut on the windshield tho......looks tacky and unfinished........other than that, your on a roll again........as usual with your builds.........

Thanks fellas! Good catch on the windshield screws--I'm going to replace them with ones of the right length, just haven't got to it yet!

Nate, it is Chromex. I am really happy so far with the result. As to the dyno, I will get there eventually, but need some weather to get there first

It is certainly not for everyone, I'm finding. There are many who hate it as well (my neighbors, for starters when I fire it up), but most just don't really get it.

It's all good, though. I built it for me off a picture in my head (kinda makes one wonder about the pics in my head, eh), so I am happy with it. At a minimum, it provides entertainment for everyone watching me!

I rode it today at 17 degrees, and it handle like a dream, even that cold. On accident I brought the front wheel up--proof that it is lighter than it used to be. Fortunately that ended well.

It will certainly never be done, so I will post up as things change...Thanks again!

One thought I had when looking at the pics today, that front fender doesnt fit with the whole bike anymore. Any plans there?

It really doesn't fit. I am planning on making a composit front fender from Texalium fiberglass (aluminum coated glass). It should resemble silver carbon fiber when done, but still be pretty light. Good call!

I thew the VTR on the scales today to see if all this effort was worth it. The results (with fuel, water, oil, etc):

                      393 Pounds!!!!!!

                      Front weight: 195 (49.6%)
                      Rear weight: 198 (50.4%)

For reference, Kool-Aid's weights are here:

                      416#
                      Front: 200 (48.1%)
                      Rear: 216 (51.9%)

I don't have stock ratios for a VTR, but the dry and wet weights are as follows:

                      dry: 423#
                      wet: 448#

This means a reduction in wet weight of about 55#--while increasing hp (via NO), and general badassery!

I'm not sure total capacity of the tank yet, but this was full. I have to drain some fuel down to reseal a petcock, and I will try to remember to measure what comes out to get an idea of actual dry weight.

Not bad distribution, and not bad for all the weight I added back on with the NO and fairing. SO stoked about these results!

Finally got a chance to dial in and run the NO system tonight. It was not optimal, as it was cool, and I had to run straight into the wind, but I was able to measure a definite improvement. My gauge logs max speed, so here is a pic of the night's run:

I've verified the speedo accuracy to 100 mph, so I feel it is a pretty good indicator. The nitrous system worked really well, and the bike responded to it equally well. I think with conditions a bit better, I can easily push the 150 mark. Certainly not bad for 5000' feet above sea level! Anyway, just thought I would share this excitement--the work has paid off in performance!

Looks tight! Sweet craftsmanship! If it were me I'd smooth over the welds and re-polish... and I'd redo the fairing/windscreen a touch less angular, more sandbag made and rounded. But that's me, and this is your bike, not mine. But definately going to watch this thread for further improvement. My hat goes off to u for the creative genius!
