    Cop Valkyrie

    Dan,
I saw the cop Valk again the other day, at Colters again, and this this time there was a real live cop throwing a leg over it. He even had a gun! I think he was a N. Richland Hills cop, as the patch on his coat sleeve didn't look like the City of Hurst's logo. But he was for real. Big gun and everything. Really, I saw him, I really did.

      Other Bike

My other bike is a self made dual purpose. A Honda FT500 Ascot. A big 500 single for the street that I have added off road tires to. Allows me to ride the street or take off on the logging roads.

This is where my youth is gonna show up...I've only really had 2 kinds of bikes. Honda 350's and my XJ1100J.

        I've got 12 1971 and 1972 Honda CB and CL 350 twins.
Bought 15 of them for about $40/apiece with the intention of fixing them up. When I got the first 2 fixed up (i.e. running), friends got REALLY interested and offered me too much money for them. How could I say no. The other one I gave to my brother as a sort of service to him. He's never been mechanically inclined...but he's getting there now! He tore the bike down to the frame and had everything repainted! (His fiance's father owns an auto body shop) He and Dad went through the bike and it was a real learning experience for my brother. I'll let you guys know when he puts it up on Ebay. He doesn't want to sell it unless he can make enough money to buy a new bike...so there will be a high reserve.

Now I'm at college in Hawaii and bought an '82 XJ1100J. Let me just say that I love the bike, even with all its quirks and foul moods. It's amazing how few tools you can get by with and still end up able to fix the bike!

It's a great feeling when you know a bike well enough you could practically fix it in your sleep...trouble is it never works quite that way when I'm awake.

Added a new one, got a 97 royal star tour deluxe. Not as much go as the XS but it is real smooth cruising. Big fat tires, lots of shiny pieces, and a huge comfy seat. I must be getting old!
I have a bike and I am not afraid to use it
