Well lets see: 73 Suzuki TS 100 then a Suzuki GT250,GT380 a GS750 still have 2 Suzuki TC 100 in the barn gathering dust, thought would restore one but can`t find parts.Yamahas a IT175,first XS-11 traded it for Honda V-65 Sabre- got a Kawaski KZ 650-traded for a Honda CB-1 a real nice bike sold it.Now what else a 66 BSA 650,Honda 550 Supersport then a 750 Supersport.Owned a XL350.Yamaha RT180 sold it.Got a Suzuki RM250 raced mx for 3 or 4 years.Wanted to trail ride some and ride the track so I got a 96 Husaberg FE501E still own it.Wanted another xs,found one and still own it.There are proably some bikes I left out but these I do recall for now.I took up mx racing because somebody asked {do you think you can do that}well I wobbled out there and showed them.Actually did pretty good. That about does it.

This is my first post to this forum and I'd like to introduce myself to all here.

My name is Steve and I am a motorcycle addict.

If there is a 12 point program for this addiction please don't tell me, I'm fine just the way I am!

All of the below mentioned purchase procurements and acquisitions were preformed in Fairbanks, Alaska, my hometown.

Following is the list of my addictions.

        ---------------------------------------

1966 Honda CA-200, 90cc street bike. Learned to ride on this one, street bike ridden mostly on trails.

1968 Yamaha LT-1 Trailmaster, 100cc Trail bike, ridden mostly on the street (Go figure)

1970 Bultaco Campera, 175cc on-off road (street legal Trials bike) ridden up and down 100 step staircase on university campus also through 2 ft deep mud etc. Only on the street to get to there!

1975 Norton Commando Interstate, 850cc street bike. Finally rode one where it was designed to be-on the street. Fast, Bloody FAST! (The Trooper said 128mph but only ticketed me for 85. (remember the speeding palm trees in Florida?)

1970 Suzuki 125cc trail bike, don't remember model. Used to haul firewood and water with a small trailer. Broke frame re-used motor in off road go-cart.

1974 Yamaha TX500, 500cc eight valve vertical twin. Another fast bike but couldn't keep valves adjusted.

1970 Yamaha Seca 550, In-line four. Quick little bike and rugged. My teenage daughter and I put almost 40,000 miles on this machine over a number of summers traveling all over the state camping and exploring.

1975 Yamaha TY350, Finally a bike for the rough! Competition ready Trials bike. Never, never had a better off-road machine! Only one problem, 1 gallon gas tank really limited riding range.

1979 Yamaha XS1100SF, We've still got this Monster. Fastest thing I've ever ridden but I figured how to slow it down a bit. The wife and I road it to Kennedy Space Center from Fairbanks, Ak in the summer of '95 and camped all the way. loaded for the road it was heavy, didn't cut down too much on the top-end but did slow down the take off! It's being restored to being factory specs (Almost!) as a street rod/ Blvd cruiser.

2001 Yamaha RoadStar Midnight Star, A sweet ride! I will Definitely NOT do any trail riding with my Roady!. Beautiful machine. Went looking for a V-Max last spring and the old lady fell in love with this ride, guess you can say it's more hers than mine, but I get to Drive!!

              Mitch,
I can highly recomend the Valk. I love mine.
Yes lots-o-torque, smooth as silk on the road. The bike is heavy when your pushing it or at really slow speeds, but once your moving if feels lighter that most bikes i have been on. Really balanced. If you do get one look up the Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club, they have lots of good Valk info.

                  Heavy !!!

You wanna see heavy try a venture royal , i love it on the road but in the dooryard or around town whew! Gary warned me but i still like it. just top heavy is all, like you say sweet on the highway actually out handles the XJ i had in the turns. Lots of power smoked some bikes last summer that really got a suprise when old red blew by. Belive it or not i cut a van off last summer and really come on to her hard hitting second at red line, the old girl pulled the front up , only a couple inches mind you but i was shocked! have a good day ........MITCH

                      seat

Since you mention the seat, make sure if you buy one that is older than the 2000 model, you will want to replace the seat with a new one. Honda changed the seat lat in '99. I bought a new one from Hondaline and it fit right on. Much better that the original '98 model seat.
                      just fyi.

A bike that sounds very interesting is the Ducati Multistrada. It was designed to be a cutting edge universal bike - sporty enough to handle great in the twisties, practical enough to commute around town, and comfortable enough to take on long trips.

                            Valkyrie

I recently saw a Valk police bike. I had to look a couple of times to make sure I was seeing correctly. It looked pretty cool for a cop bike.

                              Hey John!

The DART cops used to run Valkyries . . . leased from Dallas Honda. They (Dallas Honda) have been selling the lease returns lately, still with the "Police" labels all over them.

                                Cop Valks

Hey Dan. Maybe that's what it was. It was at a Colters here in Hurst on the frontage road for 121 by NE Mall. The local constabulary frequent this place, so I thought maybe they were getting away from the Copasaki's and going with the Valks. I was twisting it up to merge into traffic when I saw it, and couldn't get a real good look to see if it had all the cop goodies on it.
