I'm helping a friend on a 82 XJ650J. Just had a bad leak from the head and cylinder and needed carb work. Has around 140 compression on all cylinders. Thinking PO had done top end job as there were 2 new cylinder studs. The leak could have been fixed if I had retorqued every nut and started it to check, as they all seemed loose while tearing it down, but I didn't. I removed head and cylinder and have new gaskets.
My concern is when tryin to synch the carbs later, what to do with the YICS. I have never done it before, as mine is a 79 Standard.
Does the advertised tool eliminate that system all together or is it just to install while doing the synch and then removing?
Where can I get one?
Any help will be deeply appreciated.
