  • My 2 new motorcycles, 83 Honda and 67 Suzuki..

Building my XS11, deep into a crazy build..
I just sold my cheap car so I could get SOME motorcycle to
ride soon, cause its that time of year.
    I bought 2 bikes hehe

$550 1983 nighthawk 650: needs carbs, a blinker, freshening up, new rear tire soon. Has a new battery. 27K miles, have clear title

$360 1967 Suzuki b105p Bearcat: ran before it sat for about 5 years (needs some refresh/restore). 118cc 2-stroke, it has 2 sprockets on the rear wheel that can be switched (suzuki's answer to Honda Trail 90's hi-lo gearing). On the one sprocket that little motor will take to bike to about 100mph! It only weighs 200lbs, it has a 2-stroke tank for oil injection (no pre-mixing).
Needs tires, one rim missing a few spokes... MAN what a find! 2,550 original miles!

Nice finds on both of them. Hope the refresh/restore work goes well and easy.

This little red bike to 100mph? Must take a wee small rear sprocket, and a set of way big cojones!

Not that I really feel like calculating the RPM and sprocket size require for that thign to hit 100 MPH. But I gotta agree with Ken on the cojonas. Big, jumbo, titanium ones IMO.

They guy that sold it to me said it would do what the speedo said, 100mph!
After further investigation, it might only go 65mph max, but still awesome

I've got the big balls for it though, and that feels fine.

In 2005 I had a bad motocross accident, CR250 with paddle tire at sand dunes, jumped like 60 feet landing flat. Busted out my front teeth, almost died, don't remember the first month after among other effects.

In 2008 I drove my 2000 Yamaha R1 from Utah to New Jersey, 2,000 miles in 4.5 days.

I got these awesome carbs from a local guy who didn't get bids on eBay, $75:

Also, I got the siezed motor broken free on the 67 Suzuki. Just lots of PB blaster down the spark plug hole for a couple days, finally kicked free. I think it will run when I clean tank/carb, awesome.

Can you send me six random numbers between 1 and 49 so I can use them to buy Friday's 41 million dollar lottery? You seem to be on an excellent lucky streak.

                    rock on
I'm not that lucky, but I do well sometimes
you wouldn't win with my numbers

I had the Nighthawk idling for a bit, I think with new spark plugs I'll get in the morning it'll run and I can start testing..

I wish I had an answer for the carb in that little 2-stroke suzuki, the slide is still stuck tight inside it! Soaking in good carb dip overnight, PB blaster, etc has still done nothing, prying inside with good pressure it won't budge..

Try Gun cleaning oil like "Break-Free". If you do a search on gun cleaning you should find a thread or two on using this stuff on the carbs.

advice on this old mikuni round slide carb?

I can't figure this out, the choke, pulling on the cable does nothing, is something still seized up?

How bad is the engine on the NH? Try dipping the Suki carb in boiling water for about 30 seconds and then try to extract the stuck starter jet.

                              I like that 67

It looks so old school like the bikes I remember when I was little.
