Style? Thats a real good question. I wanted a hardtail bobber in the beginning but I just wasn't feeling it with this bike. If I were to classify it I think it would be a bobber tracker. I know that sounds weird but if it comes out like it looks in my head we will all be pleasantly surprised. I just want a classic look with a decent ride. Hopefully it works like I want... I will get some pics up soon they are all on my phone.

Bobber tracker. That will be interesting to see. You need to get some pics up. I can't believe that you have made two pages with no pics...
Healthy is merely the slowest rate at which you can die

Some people will tell you that slow is good - and it may be, on some days - but I am here to tell you that fast is better. I’ve always believed this, in spite of the trouble it’s caused me. I always send my pics from my phone directly to my photobucket.com account. Real easy to post them after that. I look forward to seeing this "bobber tracker" idea.

I think I still have 8 or 10 1972-1974 CL and CB 350 twins sitting in a chicken coop back at my parents' farm in Nebraska.

There are a couple that are pretty nice condition and quite a few that are more or less metal lace...complete with seized engines.

It was hard to pass them up when I bought them. $40 apiece for 14 bikes...an awful offer to make to an 19 year old home for summer break from college.

I ended up with 4 or 5 running with very little work. My brother did a frame-off resto on his and his father in law (an auto-body guy) painted it for him for free.

OK, I finally have a photobucket account and can upload pics. Whoever told me you could send to photobucket is a genius or else thats just how behind I am.

Here is the bike as I got her. The photos actually look better than it was.

It looks like a fun little project. If you want to rake it a bit without going overboard, you can put a disk brake front end from a CB450 on it and that would also give you much better stopping.

BTW, I used to work on these things all the time, PM me or eMail me at my personal address if you need help or advice with it.

                Hi Don,
yeah, it's so simple that even I learned how to do it.
                Some things to watch for:-
First, DON'T re-arrange the photos after you post them.
If you do, you get that embarrassing "photo removed" sticker showing up instead.
Second, be aware that ANYONE can get access to the photos and use them as they wish.

For instance, why does this man look so serious?

Not too worried about my images but thanks for your concern. As for why he is so serious, he just reasembled his bike, rode it 10 miles and as he pulled back into the driveway all the electronics went dead. It was a fun day for dissapointments.

Here is the cl350 now. Still a little fab work to do but oyu get the idea.

                          Hi Don,
bike died in the driveway on the return?
He should be grinning like a rat trap.
Consider what his expression would be if it died at the turnaround point and he'd pushed that 600lb pig the 5 miles back home.
And yeah, it's the bottom-most line that sends the photo.
Went through that same learning curve myself a month or so back.

I guess thats true, a push would have not been very fun but I was bummed none the less. We have since turned the xs into a trike for my Dad. Don't hate me for it. The trike has turned out very cool. If I ever get my phone working again i will post a pic of it.

Can't wait to see how this bike turns out. Looking like you've made some progress, that thing sure was rough when you picked it up! BTW you can pick up an actual (cheap) digital camera for like 30 bucks at bust buy, probably won't take much better photos then your phone but at least you'd be able to take photos.

                                Hi Don,
that trike still got rear suspension, don't it?
It's the hardtailing thing that gets my goat. Those guys should be posting to S & M sites rather than to XS11.com.
I reckon that a sidecar rig has several definite advantages over a trike but either modification will enable the machine stay upright without rider assistance and to navigate tricky surfaces that would spill a solo machine.
