After finally pulling my head out of where the sun doesn't shine...

I went to the local performance shop and got the o-rings and pilot jets...
I do have a question... okay... one that isn't so easy for me to answer this time...

The stock FJ pilot jets don't have emulsion holes... the 2 stroke jets do (which is what he sold me)... The guy at the performance shop said it shouldn't make a difference putting the 2 stroke jets into a 4 stroke... but the other way around was a different story...

Before I put these jets in my carbs and commit to them...
    Any thoughts on it?

How hard is it to yank the carbs on an FJ? if it isn't that big of a deal, you could just try them out.

If it is too much of a hassle, you might try pod filters.

well, I have three, none twins that are all hormones and hairspray.

My oldest son is on the verge as well. His voice is cracking and he is getting broad across the chest.

The youngest two sons are both off the scale on the Connor's charts (ADD measurement).

Now you know why I rode four hundred some miles to Talihina. It was for my SANITY!

                  pilot jets

                  Hi Wildkat,
those pilots u have with the side holes should b ok, they will run leaner than if they had no holes,
my 81 had pilots without the holes, when i replaced mine they were replaced with pilots with the side holes, the bike i found idled better, only problem is i cant remember if i went up a size or not.
At worse u can always solder the holes up being careful not 2 get any solder in the 'guts' of the jet.

Thanks Pete... that seems to be the general consensus...
I had a brain laps and only bought two (which I have been chastised for... sort of... ) so will go back today and get a couple more and make it right...

Ivan... yeah... they are a PITA to remove (stripped airbox bolt)... but I'm getting pretty good at it, unfortunately...
Hopefully with all the new shiny bits... I won't have to take them off again until I get the pods... and I didn't realize the jets were so cheap... so I can play around with it a bit if I need to...
as far as the kids go... I have a strange feeling John and I will be riding a LOT more starting next year... and best of luck with yours... see you in June (if not before then) sanity in tact... I hope...

I highly recommend going to Harbor Freight for O-rings. They have 2 assorted sets one which is all Viton (the best) for $20 and one set that is nitrile for $6. Can't say how many O-rings I have replaced using that set. As for the pilots, I would go up to a 40.

                          Thanks Jessie...

                          I'll do that...

Of course, the only problem with going to Harbor Freight... a $20 trip can end up being SOOOOO much more expensive...

Thanks for the suggestion on the pilots too... That was the same thing the guy at the performance shop said... nice to have the confirmation...

see the O-Ring kit at Harbor Freight. It has most of the metric sizes needed and it cost about 6 bucks on sale. They are suppose to be "most" fuel proof They also have other kits that may have your needed size. The item number is 96282
