  • 750 Katana carb questions

OK . I just rebuilt the carbs for my 1983 750SD Katana. Instruction for carb sync say that #1 & #4 are synced together and #2 & #3 are synced together BUT #1 & #4 are to be 1/2 a ball higher then #2 & #3. This is when using sync sticks that use balls. I have gages so does anyone know what the difference between the 2 pairs should be?

Also Where the heck do the carb vent hoses go. There's no place on the air box or engine. Is there suppose to be "T"s in the engine valve cover vent to accept the carb vent hoses?

I put Katana 1100 carbs on my XS1100 and the vent hoses had to go to the air box, the filter or somewhere else with quiet air since turbulence or vacuum or pressure will mess up the float level. Also, the carbs should all be synced the same.

If I can remember correctly, the vent hoses just hang loose- with no vacuum on them. A far as the sync, just set them all together and see how she idles. If she idles rough, adjust the 1 and 4s a little higher.
