It's not about the authenticity of the era anymore, it's about "HOW can they tie in Merchandise" into it. It's called product placement, like a guy holding a can of Pepsi, etc.!
This way they get $$ from HD for advertising, as well as a cut from the TOYS kids will buy, etc.!

"I guess its easier to find old cars to use in a movie than it is old bikes."
with a budget in the hundred million dollar range they can't find a 1940's bike? Nah, they are just ignorant. The first rule of any fantasy movie is that everything not to do with the plotline has to look authentic and they have blown it. Mind you, the Luftwaffe didn't have that fancy assymetric airplane they showed in the first movie either but it did at least look neat.

I remember watching cop shows from the '70s. A Chev Impala was being chased, hits a ramp, flies through the air and lands as a Ford Galaxie.
That's because the Ford could build up enough speed to even make it up the ramp.
Originally posted by D. P. Larmee I'm pretty sure its harley. It looks like an '07 Twin Cam Softail Springer with some vintage parts bolted on. If you look here it looks like they even bolted a kicker to the frame. The oil puddle under it in the first pic screams harley as well.
