"Oh, like I've got nothing better to do...!"

        Ok...
I'll run the numbers, check jet sizes and such, see what I can find.

Ljay40- My first bike was a KZ 400.Just make sure that the carbs dont leak gas. There are small holes to vent the area below and gas if it is leaking will get into the oil and wreck havoc! I found out the hard way!

these carbs do leak out of #1 over flow tube

Below the carbs where the engine oil is- gas leaking out of the carbs for whatever reason will drip into these small holes. They will get into the oil .Watch out Very costly repair.

I still have and old kz400, if I remember correctly, those little nipples on the bottom of the bowls had hoses on them so that overflow could be routed harmlessly onto the ground. oh yea, the carbs should fit, it's a parrallel twin, I don't think the overall dimensions in the heads changed much as far back as the early middle '70s. also you can check out kzrider.com or kz400.com, they're fairly informative sites. (no where near as good as this site but...) the kz400.com has it's forum broken up into about a thousand sub forums. broken down by engine size, and topic (chassis, engine, mods, etc.) that old parrallel twin is a pretty good little powerplant. get around pretty good, good on gas, nice little commuter bikes. oh well, it seems I've gone droning on again and written another book. hope I didn't get too far off topic. have a nice day and ride safe.

Ha!! I get to respond to a question, you can go to one of our carb experts, wiredgeorge, type it in google and it will bring up his site.
he is the carb guy of all times.
