        fenderless?

I put on the taillight now, and thought about putting a tire hugging fender before. now it's set in stone...will have a stationary rear fender from seat to tail light....

          yeah

In your "begging new mod , need help thread" you got a photo shopped pic of a fenderless bike. I thought that was what you were going for?

            photo

I was drawing up the rear shock look. The fender was an unknown at that time. Now I have everything sorted out. I have built alot of things and fly by the seat of my pants as I go....I will post some pics during the fiberglassing part of the build so you can check out how I go about the task....chop

              Sweet

Some pics would be great, and I know what you mean by fly by the seat of your pants. I was originally doing a belt drive!

So I am getting the front wheel worked out. The drive for the 550 wheel actually rides outside the hub, and has a plate that is notched to keep it spinning with the wheel. So in order to put a rotor on the left side, I had to try and space the rotor out enough so it would still keep it spinning with the wheel. Couldn't get it to work that way so I had to cut some notches in the back side of the left rotor. Not all the way through though, just enough to allow the rotor to sit flat against the hub. All I am waiting on now is the speedo unit to be drilled out to allow it to fit over the 11 axle. Then I can get the front mounted up. Still waiting on the rear fender, rear rotor, rotor bolts as well. Hopefully I will get them this week.
                Later fellas

                      next

after this dries 2nite I will shave the foam down with a curve meeting the sv650 taillight(red lens removed)with a fine tooth hacksaw blade I have found does the best. Then I will overlay all this foam/foamboard with putty/clay and custom form. THEN I can finally lay the glass. This will be even slicker than the 'Streak because the side covers will actually be a 1-piece that lays over the frame, but under the tank and seat. guess I should have took pics of the tank mounts and seat mounts(actually only had to weld two spots for the front tank mounts!)...more to come....keep up the good work, hope I gave you some good ides....Chop

Looking good Chop, cant wait to see the finished product.
I got my front wheel painted monday, and installed it last night. Also recieved the rear brake rotor and rear fender. Now I just need to cut down the fender and figure out how I am going to mount it. I am thinking about using it as a mold of sorts to make a fiberglass one. Probably do that later, I am trying to get this beast on the road. After I get the fender mounted and painted all I have to do is get the back brake working. I am going to try and reuse the xs caliper and mount. Probably gonna hang it under the swing arm. All I am missing is a long enough brake line.
I tell you one thing we are gonna have some pretty unique bikes when all is said and done.
