Rear End Mods

I have seen several threads about modifications to the rear suspension on the back of our bikes.
Some discussion about bracing the swingarm to stiffen it. Others were talking about going monoshock.
Over on the XStriples site someone has a neat looking mod:

looks like a good idea, dont know if even pod filters will fit though.
Then there is also batterry and wire harness relocation. also looks like the rear master cylinder may have to be moved.

Not sure from the pics, but I bet you could get some of the little crome ended Uni's one there. They are really short.

I dont know about carbs 2+3 though, looks like it is mounted right were they would sit.

The bike is an XS750 or 850, a three cylinder. So the shock will be inline with the middle carb.
I would move the location of the top of the shock. Battery and electrics can go in the tail section.

How does that shock work? Mounted at that angle, I would think rear wheel travel would be severely limited and stress would be placed in the wrong direction, causing a bent shock.

The top of the shock does not look like it is mounted yet, looks like it is just lying there. It is a niffty lookin set up tho, I hope it works for the guy.
