A question about windshields

I put one of those National Cycle Deflector screens on my 79 Special and I like it. I think it looks good and doesn't take away from the Special's styling. I see just over the top of it. It does a great job of keeping the wind off my chest. I'm still playing with the mounting angle to take some air off my head. My neck gets a little stiff after and hour or so.
What do you tall guys do about getting more leg room? At 6'2" I'm a little cramped on the Special.

I like those spiffy XJ wheels & rotors John!
I've got a Deflector Shield on my SF too but I found it necessary to mount it higher and rake it back a bit to alleviate the buffeting around the helmet. I'm 5'-10".
Shiny side up,

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out and defiantly shouting, "WOW, what a ride !" - Sprung

Thanks Mike.
I used to have a shield similiar to the new one, only without the lowers, before the accident, and I didn't like riding with out one after I got the bike back together. I had to raise the shield about 1 1/2 inch above the headlight to get it positioned where I can see over it when sitting erect, and through it, with out the top of it being in view, when kicked back on the back rest. It is adjustable, and you can see in the pics, it is pulled up close to the bars, so that I am leaning comfortably against it. I have my crash bars and foot boards back on now, so I can really kick back on it again.
I parted out a couple of XJ's a few years ago, and I liked the curved spoke design, so I experimented, and found that they swapped right over. I used to have some XJ air shocks on my bike, but I replaced them with a set from a MNS.Last edited by John; 01-17-2006, 08:29 PM.
