    1980 xs1100 SG petcock adaptors

Hi, i was wondering if anyone has used these petcock adaptors to us a standard 3/8 NPT petcock, there seems there isn't any non-vacuum replacements for this year or model, except if some can tell me someplace that has them

I have no experience with the adapters but many have used these Yamaha Xs1100 Petcock for sale | eBay and stated they work ok.

I really like those manual petcocks. Very reliable and easy to use.

I have some of these. I can check the spacing. I believe they fit the Eleven Special. The Midnight has the same petcock as the other Specials, correct? These petcocks won’t allow the use of the vacuum shutoff valve.

To me it's worth the time and effort to get a working set of vacuum operated petcocks on my bike. Had a Suzuki that was converted from vacuum to manual and never having to remember to turn the fuel off keeps you from waking up to a huge fuel leak along a puddle under the bike and a need to change the oil due to a flooded crankcase.

Larry, those look like they were not normally used. They look like they were still installed during a vinegar or acid wash. Also could of had quite a bit of moisture on the bottom of the tank and sat all winter. VERY unusual amount of corrosion.

Here is mine after a year on the tank. No issues. Quite a difference.

                    Usage wuz normal. (^_^)

Just installed years ago as a "Well, now petcocks wurky so's move on to sumpthin' elso on the to do list." (O_O)

No acid or vinergar wash while petcocks/plates installed. I did a wash/rinse on the tank AFTER the plates failed but I made a set of "blocker" plates/gasket to close up the opening(s) in the tank where's the petcocks/plates wuz s'posed to be. ┐(´~`)┌

Bike DID sit fOaR 8 months whilst I went on a non-bike trip/adventure. Prior to leaving I did a "soft lay up" of the bike. Drained float bowls, added fuel stabilizer to a full tank of gas, lifted the bike off'in the tires, etc. 乁( ⁰͡ Ĺ̯ ⁰͡ ) ㄏ

The petcocks you show are not the type that use the squarish "adapter plate" pictured at the start of this thread, don't use the same full rubber rectangular gasket, and most importantly the petcock is not a seperate unit what screws INTO the adapter plate. (^_^)

You might be fine and stay that-a-wayz. (O_o)

Imma sticking with the latin phrase- "res ipsa loquitur". ¯\_(⊙_ʖ⊙)_/¯

As in, "The thing (picture) speaks for itself." (°_°)

Imma callin wut I pictured as the "Usual" thing to see afters these adapter plates are installed fOaR a while as opposed to the shiney new photo befOaR anyone "adds-to-cart". ┐(°ヮ°)┌

Seems I have not been any help to the OP. These don't appear to be non-vacuum. Of course for me they would work perfectly because I prefer vacuum operated.
