  • xs1100 Where do these parts go?

    Wisdom seeking today.
Piecing together a 1980 xs1100 Special and wondering where these items go?
The cable clip seems to belong on the cam cover somewhere, i've seen a diagram that shows it front and center but all I see on the bike there is the oil cooler, no cable to hold.
And the two rubber bullets, yeah I've no clue :/

2nd pic is where the throttle cable is routed. That what the part looks like.

I don't recognize the rubber bullets. That clamp mounts with a valve cover bolt and the throttle cable goes through it as stated by oldyam80sg .

Do the bullets cover up the screws that are set at the factory they don't want you to play with such as mixture screws?

Factory air caps don't have the smaller diameter on the base. They are the same diameter all the way down. They will also be VERY HARD, and not work well if they are the OEM caps!

After scanning many "misc. parts" ebay listings and not seeing these things in any collection I'm of the opinion the PO just got them mixed in with the random everything I walked out with. These go into the cold case files. My thanks for the guesses all the same.

Those rubber pieces look like fork bump stops similar to the ones on my Husqvarna 250
1980 XS1100G "Dolly G" Full Dresser (with a coat of many colors )
                  1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
                  1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
                  1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
                  1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.
