Well I took my XS11 for it's first ride after 5 years in storage and the first time I have ridden it in solo configuration... Previously set up as a sidecar outfit with custom wheels and suspension.
Spent the last 3 months resurrecting it from its slumber and converting back to solo trim. Had a few trials along the way, all brake calipers were seized from sitting, carbs full of gunk from old fuel, and finally an ignition fault which was traced to a defective RH coil (open circuit HT winding) But all finally resolved and man did she go well !! I am really happy with it.

I sold most of my Z1's to a collector and now i have more time for my XS1100 projects ... Here is my turbo bike which I bought new in 1982. I sold the orange and silver parts which styling I found too extreme now and I am going back to a more stock look. So on with a stock tank and seat. I am still not sure what to do with the turbo setup and the fuel injection. I will hoever keep the FJR swingarm and the monoshock..

Nice work, as usual! My curiosity has me wondering what ever happened to the twin-spar frame build for the XS11 motor/tranny? I remember those pics you had posted several yrs. ago building those top twin-spars as to clear the valve cover tops.

Thank you for still being interested! That twin spar classic racer is still progressing but at a very low pace... At the moment I am busy with a stainless 4-2-1-2 exhaust after I ditched the 4-2-1 I made earlier. I didn't like the looks and it was too loud for my liking.. When the exhaust is done I'll start with a home made wiring harness followed by some fiberglass work, some engine work (just checking) and then (I hope) it will be a runner... These pictures are from today., the exhaust still in mock-up fase and partly tack welded to get the looks. Maybe you still recognise her hahaha

Mathh, I do recognize the frame rails, as you were fabricating them way back then. Again, nicely done as it heads towards a finished project!

How ironic. I had seen your bike listed on Craig's List in Traverse City. I wanted to refer to it another post this evening, so I went looking for it on Craig's List and it was gone. Now I know why. Congratulations.

The reason I was looking for it was because of the similarity of the decals on the side covers:
