    Ron;
It wouldn't hurt to bring a few. I don't know how many people are going to show, but we may be supprised.
Just let everyone know they can save the $5 shipping, and who knows!!

      Ray,
are you ready for the *hEaT*? I live ~40 miles north of Los Banos and it's been in the triple digits for almost a month now...
It's good we're meeting up in a restaurant - I sure hope their A.C. is working well - I, for one, will need some *cold* after driving in the 'San Joaquin desert'
      See you there,
      XSive regards

I know the area! I dumped a bike in Modesto back in 1972, on the tracks running down the middle of the road.
The heat is the reason I live on the coast. I have lived in Phoenix, as well as Gilroy, so I know HOT.
I may have my son with me, as he likes motorcycles and would like to learn how to ride.

              Hi Jess...

I'm just a few miles/minutes from Cobb, I ride up there often in summer to escape the heat. So you're up Eureka way? I was just up there last summer with SWMBO on the XS650SJ accompanied by our friend Ducati Tim. Stayed at the hotel on the square in Arcata and took the leisurely ride back down through the Avenue of the Giants. Great ride even though my clutch cable broke in Arcata...jury rigged it with a bicycle cable clamp and rode back without using the clutch except to get away from stops. Next time you get down this way be sure to ping me and we can ride some of the great local backroads. Even if you don't have a bike with you bring your helmet, I've got extras.

National Weather Service predicts the high on Saturday for Los Banos is 96F. Not too bad, it's been over 100F here for weeks!

Yeah, guys, Los Banos is a geographically centralized location and the restaurant is decent, but leaves much to be desired in the heat and ambience department. We can decide a more attractive location for the next one at this one...

I've always gone to Denny's, or Perko's with a bunch of other riders and the 'group' took over the center-of-the-room tables... but since we have no idea how many XSers are going to attend this get-together that's a tough call. ...we could be 4 in number, or several dozen. I don't know about anybody else but I'm closing my shop, on my busiest day, to go meet some people that are as fanatical about the XS11 as I am.

...I'm just surprised it didn't happen MONTHS ago - it's almost the middle of August...

That's awesome, Mike. I will definately keep you in mind on the next trip down. Look me up if you head up the coast again. I am just getting moved over there, but already have my eye on the Avenue of the Giants ride for sure.

LoHo's sure right about the heat and ambience of Los Banos. The name means "baths" but who needs to bathe in sweat? I was looking for some company for the trip down and the reaction was, "Los Banos? Why TF would anyone go there?" (SWMBO and I once ate at the I-5 Andersen's but that's the only time I've even been near there.) I did manage to find a couple of local stalwarts who'll ride anywhere anytime for anything. "Los Banos for lunch? When do we leave?"

It will be a two hour ride for me, if I take my time. I'll have to see if anyone from San Jose or Santa Cruz area is going.

                              "the toilet"?
Pat, I lived in Spain for several years and it means bath, bathtub or bathroom there... toilet was referred to as 'excusado'. matter of semantics I guess

Semantics it is..."bano" (I can't figure out how to put a tilde on the "n") is equivalent to "bathroom." As you may know, bathing is not the only function of a bathroom...

I'm afraid our group may be very small...only three XSives, as far as I can tell. I'd hate to have you lose a day's receipts for such a small event. Who's in?
