    Modesto is south-east of San Fran.
    Benicia is north-east.
    I'm not familiar enough with the bay area to suggest a good place. I pretty much stay on my side of the coast hills (that's why an XScuse to get out of town for a day would be welcomed).

      Don't get too far off the beaten path

      As long as I don't get too far out where it will make it tough to get back to Benicia I don't mind driving your way and meeting up. Obviously I don't know any places, if you figure one out try to get an address and I'll mapquest it from the airport and run down that way.

        cell phone

        Here is my cell number. I assume I'll be able to get a signal on a Cingular phone in CA.

        404-386-9304

        Call me after 12:00 noon and we'll figure something out.

            Pat;
            I'm probably farther from Benicia than you are. I also need to put new ball joints on the "beast" this week, and have to do that after work.
            I would like to meet up with some of the other owner/riders, but I'm probably just going to wait for LoHo to send in a time and place for a weekend meet.

                Ron (Sermon8tor), I tried calling that number a couple of times yesterday and got no answer (XSecpt for the 1st try which I hope was a wrong number). I left a message with my # (209-578-0272).

                            Sorry I missed you guys

                            Looking back over the thread, I missed a couple of things. I was in Can'taffordya as a computer geek. Our company has a branch in Benicia and I was installing a new firewall/Cisco router/printers/pc's... in other words the whole works for them. Got them out of the dinasour age and into the new millilenium. Fractional T1. They are smokin' now.

                            Sorry I wasn't able to get up with anybody. I didn't get any calls, but my phone was off until we landed in SF, which was about noon on Tuesday, so if you tried before then, I couldn't get it.

                            Southern California must be bike riding heaven, at least what part I saw. I got lost a couple of times and saw more of it than I intended. Thursday afternoon I got done a little early, and decided to drive down to SF and see the Golden Gate bridge while I was there. Drive down 780/680 and was trying to find 80/24/101 anything that looked familiar from the ride in. Wound up on 580, but did get into the city over the Bay Bridge. Ate at Sinbads right off the bridge, then road down the Embercardo?? along the coast, then cut up and hit Lombard/Presidio and crossed the GG into Marin county and turned around in Sausolito. Thought I had the way back figured out, but wound up in Palo Alto. Don't ask me how I got back to Benicia, but I did. Friday I checked out of the hotel, drove 780/680 to 24 I think. Missed 80 to get over to the SF side and wound up driving down through Oakland and crossing the San Mateo bridge and hitting 101 on the other side. Made it to the airport on time, and just got back to GA, with a serious case of jet lag. Place was awesome, I will be back for a personal visit, hopefully on the bike. Gotta be some of the best riding anywhere down that coast highway.
