The Sony minidisc one is nice too . . . usb connects to your computer, burns the disks, holds play lists too. 10 hours of music on a disk. The whole thing is about the size of a pack of cigs. About $150. Runs over 20 hours on 1 aa battery.

They have a water-resistent (sport) model too, but it is just slightly bigger.

Oh Yes, I'm singing on a ride !
Maybe I just need the radio. I would prefer the radio in my helmet. It's quite an expensive choice (guess that's why I'm singing insted) but I don't want to disturb bypassers with an external loud speaker. Must admit that Scorpion or Iron Maiden is not suitable to everyone ...

The only tune I hear is the rumble of my Jardine. And here in central Ohio, the only rumble I hear latley is thunder, and the pounding of the rain. I did go down to the barn this evening and fired the Big Eleven up just to hear her roar.

Get a CD player that will play mp3's. One cd will hold something like 10 hours of music!

This is going to sound wierd but I listen in my mind, no need for electronics. I frequently get so involved this way I go on "Auto Pilot" and miss turn off's. Crazy, no, senile, perhaps.

I don't have tunes on the 78 E. I just have a small wind sheild. No fairing, anyone install tunes on something of this nature? I have a Sony Mini disc that I use for running, and lifting. How about some small powered speakers up by the bars and gauges? Any ideas?

                              Hey there Parr8head,

This brings back old memories. I had a '74 Yamaha TX500 with handlebar mounted fairing and hardbags. I mounted a set of 5&1/4" 16oz surface mount speakers to it, had a pioneer supertuner/8-track and a 40watt amp mounted in the bags. You could hear my stereo a block before you could hear my engine!!

I don't think your mini-disc player would have the watts to drive a set of handlebar speakers loud enough to hear them very well, especially with/thru a helmet. They do sell handlebar mounted stereos for bikes, but you'll pay for it, and you still IMHO won't hear it as well as a nice set of earbuds or speakers in your helmet!!!

I see what you are saying, I was thinking about some of the ones like the round chrome ones that are always on eBay. They have amplifiers already built into them. I know that they make small amplified speakers for personal stereos, but not sure how loud that they get. I guess that it would be easier to get a set of ear bud phones, just brainstorming. BTW those speakers were going to 250.00 $ on eBay. That is a little steep for me. Maybe something in the saddle bags?...

                                Thanks,
