  • Yeppers Mdnt11.........Gave up moto-cross some 29 yrs. ago at the 250 expert level, and was winning regularly at that time. Started doin it again for the exercise afer a triple by-pass(didn't like the regimented club work-out). Still had such a passion for it, took untill third season to pull off a first. The 40+ class was to hard a pace at 47 for me, and took a while to get used to double jumps and 70+ft. table tops. Alot different than back in the day. Took untill I was in the 50+class to win some first, and even at that, most of the competitors were still no slouches. Still do it on a YZ250, but after reaching my goal of winning again, and getting back my Venturer to road ride, don't have that same urgency after knowing I still have the skill level to win. It' all been fun, and succeded again without getting hurt. At our age, that's pretty much at the top of the list anyway.
81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

    • A-men on the NOT getting hurt at our age!!(takes too long to heal!) Tried the MX at local track after 6" rain in two days. Man what a mess!!! Got my YZ250 BURRIED past the engine case! After that, give me fair weather racing any day. Lowered my YZ250G with hard tail and hit the flat tracks. Not only that, you MX guys were just plain crazy! (ha-ha) Seems i/we have started off the post thread. May have to start new post for old timmers bench racing.Keep pluggin' along!
