Sorry justyn. I must admit that the tune I'm always singing while riding is "Riders on the storm"

      Arlo Guthrie:

      "I don't want a pickle......just wanna ride my motor-sickle"

Don't think that's the name of the song, but great line.

      AND

      Shangri-La's:

      "Leader of the Pack"

On the back side of Arlo Guthrie's "Alice's Restaraunt", along with "Motorcycle Song" is another tune I like, called "Highway In the Wind". (I'm just riding down that highway in the wind.) Been a while since I listened to it, now i'll have to dig it out and fire up the turntable......

How about Bob Seger's "Turn the Page" I know a lot of h-d riders have adopted it, but it is a good song, and it is about riding.

Ditto. Also a distant second, "me and Bobby McGee." While it's not about biking it has a rambling, travling feel to it.

                      tunes

right on to alices restuarant, i thought i was the only one who dug that one.

when i'm tuned in and got the wing up on the interstate running with all the truckers the only thing that comes to mind is:

me and ole cb by dave dudley

I thought" Turn the page " was about being on the road going from town to town doing concerts. Thats the meaning I always got out of the words .

Best version of Alice's Restaurant I ever heard was while running monitors for Arlo [touring with his son] three years ago at the Denver Botanical Gardens. He continually updates the lyrics to accomodate contemporary political themes-totally hysterical. Funnier than the beloved original I grew up with. Best song running through my head while cruising-Zep. Nobody's Fault But Mine. Harp solo goes on forever riding through the Rockies.

Another tune that comes to mind when I am riding....

                            Long Lonesome Highway
(Michael Parks, 1969, from the TV series "Then Came Bronson)

Going down that long lonesome highway
Bound for the mountains and the plains
Sure ain't nothing here gonna tie me
And I got some friends I'd like to see again
One of these days I'm gonna settle down
But till I do I won't be hanging 'round
Going down that long lonesome highway
                            Gonna live life my way

One of these days I'm gonna settle down
