I personaly think the best motorcycle song of all time is Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive".

                    "Motorcycle" by Love & Rockets.

I don't know what the heck Daniel Ash has all else to say in the song, but the chorus, "Mmm, motorcycle" just about sums it up for me.

I really like "Wasn't born to follow" by the Byrds for a riding song. Especially thinking of the sequence it was used in Easy Rider.

                          bike song

The name of the artist escapes me, but how 'bout "Vincent '52"?
It made the hair stand up on the back of my neck the first time I heard it. Acoustic guitar sung by a Brit. I can't be the only one to have heard it... help me out here somebody!

Old bikers never die, they're just out of sight!

My recently re-built, hopped up '79 Special caught fire and burned everything from the top of the engine up: gas tank, wiring, seat, & melted my windshield all over the front of the bike. Just bought a 1980 Special that has been non oped for 9 years. My Skoot will rise from the ashes and be re named "The Phoenix!"
                          I've been riding since 1959.

                            Maybe I'm in the minority...

...but I guess one or two here have heard of Arlo Guthrie and also know the immortal words in "The Motorcycle Song".

                            "I don't want a pickle...just want to ride my motor....sickle
I don't want to die....just want to ride my motorcy....cle..."

                            Genius eh

Pops into my head a lot on some runs...... As does "Crossroads" by Cream/Eric Clapton.....

But maybe I really am in the minority...and my musical tastes seem to be a little off the wall some times!

                              Vincent '52....

Hey Liberty...Think your are trying to grasp for Richard Thompsons name there....

Song is called "1952 Vincent Black Lightning"

Got it on RT's Rumor and Sigh album...bought especially for that song ! Just as well...as it's certainly the highlight!!

Link below to the Amazon site if you want reminding how it goes...there's a list of short clips from the tracks about halfway down the page.

                                Stairway to Heaven

And as we wind on down the road, our 11's taller than our soles, there rolls a lady we all know, who shines so brite and we all know, that these old bikes worth more than gold..........and if you listen really hard, amidst the sounds of valves and screaming carbs........the tune will come to you at last......that we are one and one is all.......and we're riding the hiway to heaven!

                                Sorry Mr. Page and Plant
