I love the Allman Brothers' "Mountain Jam" which originally spanned two LP sides and timed in at over 33 minutes! (Hey, I think my Bic lighter just ran out...damn.)
some good tunes there,,in the uk we have the BBC radio and television,i listen to radio 2 of the bbc and there is a radio presenter who always plays the long version of songs that never really get playedonly in there short version for the radio.H plays
the Eagles,Dire strates,Pink floyd,Deep purple,Meat loaf, some crackers. But the best for me is Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds absolutely fantastic gives me goosebumps on me goosbumps and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up like a morning glory.
There are so many good ones.I will give you a few.Joe Walsh:Country Fair,Neil Young: Down by the River,Cortez the Killer not to mention cuts from the Greendale CD.I close with Genesis:The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. So many can`t think of them all.Take care.
Seeing all these great old titles really takes me back. I know there are so many more that we are omitting. It's not that fact that there are so many to chose from, it's just that we aren't able to remember them all. So many dead brain cells from the 70's and 80's. It's all a smokey haze, no make that a Purple Haze.
It was said here a while ago...If it wasn't for flashbacks, I'd have no memories at all.
I sure wish I could answer this question. I've got over 400 cassette tapes and a bunch of 8 tracks. The LP's went when I got rid of the turn table. I like em all. From the Allman Bro's to ZZ-Top.
I just purchased some used LP's this morning. They are: ELP's first. The self titled one. Grand Funk Railroad's "On Time", Creedence Clearwater Revivial's "The Concert", and Steve Howe's ( Yes's guitarist) "Beginnings". I've been looking for that one for a long time. They are all about thirty year old titles, and scratch free. It's amazing how well some people took care of their albums.
Aybody got a copy of Chris Squire's (Yes's bass player) "The Fish" they'd be willing to part with?
