I think we should pass the word around the Whole Internet that No One should wave to No One while riding. It is just not safe for some riders to take 1 hand off the bars (you know who you are!). Keep BOTH hands on the bars as much as possible for the safety of yourself and others!

I crashed my XS11 Thur night going 45 MPH, BUT I had both hands on the HANDLEBARS. If I was waving to somebody when the front end went out from under me, I would probably be DEAD on a Farm Fence post. What I am trying to say is that "I am too Sore to Wave" - so don't be offended.

I put a pencil eraser size dent in my 3 year old perfect paintjob, and destroyed my handlebars. I never got hurt at all and the bike took minimum damage in the crash. I hurt my backl left leg, and left thumb before I got it up the 3 foot Steep Hill to get it back on the road. When I stopped moving after the crash, I was still on the bike, hands and feet! I flipped it back over on me to the left trying to get her back on the road. Now, once again, I have factory Special Handlebars on my bike - which sucks to no End.
The Sunday ride is at 9:00 AM tomorrow, And Sore or Not - I Will be there!

Well, sorry about the crash, but at least you are (mostly) okay.
I've been in more than one Hemisphere, and I wrote a book to help you do it too (or just prepare better for that week long road trip). Going Small, not just for the little guys.

        Hey there Bill,

Sorry to hear about the fall, glad you are mostly alright, along with your XS. Just curious, was it road kill, cow pie, gravel, mud?

        Surely it wasn't DRIVER ERROR!!

          Hey TC,
I may have figure out today what happened. I put a 140MPH speedo off a xs750 on my bike about a month ago. I think it is reading about 15MPH too slow. So I may have went into the conrner way to hot, and I was already taking it kinda fast. I am going to clock the bike with a few of my cars. I asked my riding buddies why we were running at 45-50 MPH all day, they claims we were not. There way 4 of us out today, we saw a cop ahead. I dropped down to 55mph and drove past him. I look in my mirrors and my buddies are way back there. Apparently They were going 55 and I was doing over 70.
I will let you know if I prove the speedometer is off.
But, i did not get pulled over!
