Enough questions being asked on Facebook to indicate there is a NEED for the expertise of this site. If the issue of signing up new members can be resolved i expect a huge resurgence of interest in this site.

I agree with you Phil. Someone needs to get motivated. What is needed to fix this thing?

Update: Progress is being made!!
Hey again folks,
Again, THANK YOU for your donations. We have been able to acquire the license/software for the upgrade of vBulletin. A test machine/server has been setup, the NEW software installed, the backup of the Forum databases installed, and it appears to be working well. We will be doing some more testing and tweaking of the test install for possibly another week or so to ensure it's working right before performing the actual upgrade/install on the real server.
SO...if you try to go to the Forums and get the closed for repairs message, that's what's happening.
The monthly hosting fees are ~$50.00, but due to the site being broken, lack of ability of new members to easily join, use the site, etc., these past couple of years is most likely why the donations had dwindled and JP was paying out of pocket to keep it open. Because of increased operational costs compared to 15 years ago, we will probably have a few banners from motorcycle type commercial sites to assist in generating some of the revenue to help keep the site up and running, but will probably still rely on the graciousness of members(long time and new ones that have found the site useful) to donate a few bucks as well.
Now a little technical info for the Geeks out there. We are running vB 3.7.3. vB is up to version 5.4.5 or such, but a lot of talk out there is that version 5# is a bit more bothersome with it's requirements and all. Our test machine has vB version 4.2.5 with PHP ver. 6.3.38 or such and is very stable. Our new license will allow us to upgrade to vB 5# in the future if the need arises without any additional cost, due to hardware/php code changes and any other compatability issues that may occur. So..just wanted to mention that for those that may check out the new site and realize that we weren't running the latest vB version available. Just think back to how "WELL" windows 8 worked compared to 7 when it came out! The latest version isn't always better!
For me to log in, I have to enter my UN and PW, check the box, enter. The next screen is the error message. I use the back arrow to get back to the login screen. I then refresh and suddenly I am logged in. Who is ever going to figure that out?
So Phil, you are correct. There is definitely a seizure of the muffler bearing and it is affecting the electrical circuit in the carburetors. Not to mention reduced MPG!

It's been a while since I checked the site but I still have log-on problems and I get the "database error" page. I click the Forum shortcut in the Favorites shortcut and it's all good.
I got the confirmation from the Iron Horse for 2019. I haven't had a car for over a decade now so I've been riding my XJ a lot.
After I got home from the road trip back east, the Harley went in the shop until just after Christmas to get repaired after I got run over at a gas station in Des Moines. Fortunately, it was still rideable so I made it home and the young lady that hit me had insurance. It was a little over $3k in parts and labor but didn't cost me anything but a long wait.

Did that Harley get sorted out?

Yep, it's all better now and runs great so I'm probably going to sell it.

Hi Scott,
Nanuk has not been the happiest or luckiest motorcycle for you. Hopefully it will smarten up and ride right for the next owner.
What will you replace it with?

Meh, I don't need to replace it, I have the XJ and it starts with one kick every time. Columbo will eventually get back on the road but haven't been in the 'mood' to work on anything.
Heck, I haven't been on Farcebook for several months so it's been really quiet and peaceful for a long time now. We turned in the cable tv box last summer but kept internet so except for weather and a few bits here and there when I was out on the on the road I haven't watched television since the beginning of September. Apparently, the world has not stopped.

Hi Scott, We did the same thing here several months ago. Happy! Happy! Happy! AT&T - not so happy. Went to ROKU (free) TV. And the world has not ended here either.
Glad you got your Hardley straightened out.

Decent option Scott. Well, at least wife and I both got a ride on it last fall when you were here overnite returning home from the Co. Rally in Gunnison.

I know what you mean, Mike. It's tempting to use the 'net but I don't miss television enough to hook up free teevee. I mean, there's lint that needs to be picked off the dogs and I should rearrange my sock drawer.....
Brant, I'm so glad you and Anita got to ride. Nanuk's a beast and I had fun showing her off too!
